We provide a high flying menu for our friends over at British Airways and Mashable

We here at Kudos Delivered had the opportunity to fly in some of our cabin crew to the Old Truman Brewery last month and serve up some delicious canapés, cocktails and coolers to send passengers’ taste buds airborne. We catered for the launch of British Airways’ new flight path to the heart of Silicon Valley, meaning that we’d be more connected to our techy counterparts from across the pond than ever before.

The event itself was hosted by our friends over at popular online news site, Mashable, which promoted the new flight with the hashtag #BAinSanJose. Furthermore, the folk at British Airways will also be using their brand new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner – the largest of its kind to date! With a big plane comes big luxury, and the first class cabin has been specially redesigned for the fleet – there are no half measures for the team at BA! The first flight to the world famous technological hub took place on 4 May 2016.

The Old Truman Brewery is located in Brick Lane – a fitting location for some tech-inspired grub as East London is widely considered to be one of the birthplaces of techy talent in the UK and the home of start-ups.

We created a bespoke menu for the new flight path launch, with everything on the menu being California themed. The KD chefs were tasked with coming up with the creative dishes, and everything from the ‘Silicon Sliders’ to the ‘San Fran Fritters’ was flown to the event and served up as chunky canapés to really deliver that American authenticity. Everything was perfect on departure with no signs of delays whatsoever.

Our very own MD, Nicky Pratt, said: “It has been really exciting having the opportunity to cater for this event. Mashable is such a huge part of the online sphere and is very influential in what it does, so we wanted our food to act in the very same way.

“Our chefs at Kudos Delivered HQ flexed their creative muscles and came up with a bespoke menu that’d even go down well Stateside. British Airways is aiming to connect people globally with their new flight so we emulated this concept with our range of canapés and light bites in order to achieve that true West Coast taste.

“The event went really well and feedback has been nothing but fantastic. The events team at Mashable were a pleasure to work with and we can’t wait to team up with them again!”
